Woodpecker Tree Bird

The metal pileated woodpecker was our original iron work in our flock. The tree birds are cut from 1/8” US-recycled carbon steel. They come in raw metal and are made to patina naturally. If you want to avoid the layer of rust, we recommend applying two coats of a clear Rustoleum spray paint. Because we use recycled steel, each piece is unique and may have different markings or patina.

We designed the metal woodpecker to be hammered in directly across from the spike. The top claw should rest on top of the tree. The metal piece could also be displayed in a telephone pole or fence post. Several of our clients have mentioned guests commenting on how still their woodpecker is, assuming the metal piece was real.
